February 2004

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - WILLIAM MCVEIGH

Well finally Mother Nature cooperated with us and we were able to have our Scholarship Awards Dinner. The affair was excellent and everyone had a great time.

My congratulations to Nick Markatos for a great event and for being chosen the 2004 Member Of The Year.

I hope to see everyone at the February meeting.

ARRANGEMENTS - CHEECH ALMONA

This is just a reminder that we are at the New Hyde Park Inn for all meetings through the May 2004.

It was good to see that we had in attendance at our January meeting the 2003 Hank Hasiwar Scholarship recipients Michael Engstrom and Edward Brunnhoelzl. They seem to be very interested in what we do and they came to learn from our programs. This is what the Society is hoping for as we move ahead into the future.

The EXPO 2004 on Wednesday, April 28th is just around the corner. Get your exhibit table reservations in now. Use the exhibitor's application included in this month's Newsletter or you may download a copy from our web site at anytime. Exhibit booths are limited and are on a first come, first served basis. Call me for more information at (718) 388-0426.

Every member will soon be receiving an opinion survey from the Society. The purpose of this survey is to provide feedback for the Diesel Technology program, which is jointly sponsored by the Society of Fleet Supervisors and Farmingdale State University. The survey results will allow us to identify the specific needs of our Members and to better serve these needs.

As Members, your input is crucial in determining the effectiveness of the Diesel Technology program in preparing qualified technicians for the field. It will be well worth the few minutes you spend completing this important survey.
