April 2001

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - RICHARD FEVANG

The March program put on by Dana on drive shafts was informative and interesting. The presenters, Mr. Frank Sullivan - Regional Training Manager, and Mr. Tom Koedam, explained the many important factors and the proper maintenance procedures pertaining to drive shafts, and U-Joints. As Frank mentioned, Dana will provide FREE TRAINING at our shops. He can be reached at (732) 238-4267, or by E-mail franksullivan@dana.com. I want to thank Bill Haggerty of FleetPride for helping Don set up the program, and for sponsoring the cocktail hour.

The April meeting is an important one. The nominating committee will make their proposal for the 2001/2002 Officers for the Society, but you, the Fleet Supervisor can nominate a slate of your choice.

The Kiddy Party is set for May 20, and the Golf Outing is set for June 18, please contact Pat De Martino, or members of his committee for your reservations.

The MAY EXPO is drawing near and we need your help in obtaining sponsors and exhibitors. The free passes were sent out to everyone. We need you to get the word out to everyone and help promote the EXPO.

I hope that everyone enjoys their Easter or Passover.

See you on April 18th, and remember to promote our EXPO!

PROGRAMS - DON AULL

Well, we’re winding down another year with the Society. I hope everyone has enjoyed the programs we’ve set up this past year. I feel we have hit upon some very important subjects and our April program will be just as informative.

For April, Bandag, Inc. will bring us the latest tire technology and recapping technology that is available in the industry today. We all know that tires are one of the highest maintenance cost items a fleet is subjected to throughout the year. If only we can invent a tire that does not require air, but rides nice or a tire that never wears out. In reality that is possible right now and with proper care and control you can get close to euphoria as possible.

The September, October and November programs have already been scheduled with some great programs. Get in touch with me as soon as possible for January 2002 and beyond with possible programs you may want to see or present. Thanks for all the help in providing presentations this year.
