Our Member of the Month is Associate Member Susan Denaro of RMP Powertrain Solutions. She was born in Brooklyn and raised in Maspeth, Queens. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Huntington, Long Island and she attended Holy Family High School. Susan went on to SUNY Oneonta for a degree in Business Economics.
Upon finishing college, Susan was hired by a large independent lease finance company called Oxford Resources Corp, as a loss negotiator. She spent twelve years in the lease finance industry in both operations management and later sales and sales management. She relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1993 and took a position with Vinet, a software development company focused on the automotive industry and fleet operations.
In 2000, Susan joined RMP Powertrain Solutions, a division of Holman Enterprises, in order to head up their Ford accessories division in Norfolk, Virginia. Holman Enterprises celebrates its 86th anniversary this year. It is a third generation family owned business currently operated by Joe Holman and his daughter Mindy Holman. The Holmans opened RMP in 1946 as a remanufacturer and authorized distributor for Ford Motor Company. Now in business for 64 years, RMP has nine locations in NJ, PA, NY, WV, MD, OH, PA and IN. Collectively it serves 22 states throughout the Northeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Ten years later, Susan is happy to still be part of the Holman family and has grown along with RMP. Its product offerings now include both OE and quality aftermarket engines and transmissions as well as industrial engines and a complete line of mid and heavy duty starters and alternators.
Susan currently lives in Smithtown, Long Island with her husband John, their son John Ryan, a high school senior, and Jack, their 9 month old goldendoodle.
