Steve Tepper, our Associate Member from Taurus Supply, Inc. in Maspeth, NY, is the Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for finance, purchasing, inventory control and sales for the company. He oversees a four vehicle fleet and a staff of 14.
Starting at the early age of 15, Steve worked at Master Diesel in the Parts Department from 1966 to 1968. He later moved on to Rex GMC and was the Parts Manager and also worked in Truck Sales until 1980.
In 1981, Steve started Taurus Supply and was working out of his garage. In 1984 the company moved to their present 6,500 sq. ft. location in Maspeth. Taurus Supply rebuilds truck transmissions and rear axles and is the warehouse distributor for Dana, Spicer, TTC, Eaton, Federal Mogul and Timken. Taurus also offers drive-in service and is equipped with the latest in computer diagnostics. The company services the tri-state area.
Steve was born in 1951 and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School in 1969. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Long Island University in 1973.
Steve is married to his wife, Francine, since 1973 and they reside in Merrick, NY. Steve has a daughter, Maren and son, Lee. Lee and his wife, Gillian, have blessed Steve and Francine with a grandson, Alex.
An avid baseball fan, Steve's hobbies include collecting sports memorabilia and playing drums and the piano. He participates in community blood drives and serves as the treasurer for Temple Israel in Merrick, NY.
Steve has been an active member of the Society since November 2001 and has generously donated to the Kiddy Picnic each year. He has also been a sponsor of our Golf Outing and participated in many of our EXPO's.
