Our Member of the Month is Associate Member Anthony Cavuoto, Owner and Sales Manager for Delta Transmissions of Freeport, NY. Delta Transmissions was established in April 1976 and Tony bought in as a partner in January 1978. In 1981, Tony brought in Peter Antonelli as a co-owner/Service Manager. At that time Delta Transmissions was a facility of 2,800 sq. ft. In 1986 they expanded to 5,600 sq. ft. Delta Transmissions performs repairs, diagnostics and overhauls of automatic and manual transmissions for automobiles, trucks, and buses. They are also an authorized Allison Transmission Overhaul Dealer. Tony's responsibilities include overseeing a staff of six technicians, sales, and computer diagnostics of automobiles. Over the years, Tony states that Delta Transmissions has built a reputation among its peers for producing high quality work.

Tony was born in 1943 in New York City and was raised in the Laurelton section of Queens. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated in 1961. He furthered his education at Manhattan College and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Tony worked for Pfizer, Inc. in New York City as a Chemical Engineer involved in design of chemical plants prior to purchasing Delta Transmissions.

Tony and his wife, Diana, have been married since 1965 and have two sons - Nicholas, 34, a psychologist and Raymond, 30, a Financial Analyst. Tony and Diana have resided in Fort Salonga, NY for the past 32 years.

When Tony is not at work, his hobbies include wine tasting, Italian vegetable gardening and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Father's Guild and the Membership Committee Chairman at St. Anthony's High School in Huntington, NY

A Member of the Society of Fleet Supervisors since February 2005, Tony has been an active and very supportive Member at many of the Society's events.
