This month we feature a brand new Member for our Member of the Month, Brian Marksohn of We Transport / Towne Bus. A Member of the Society only since April 2006, he has stepped up to the plate and is chairing the Journal Committee. He's got a big job in front of him but with the help of Committee Members Mark Kodner and Robert Johanson, Brian is hoping for a record year for the Journal.

Brian is the Shop Manager and oversees seven mechanics for a school bus fleet of 160 vehicles, large and small, from Internationals to Thomas Buses. He is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, ordering parts and DOT inspections. He also handles special projects for their various locations.

Brian has traveled the world learning various cultures, traditions and languages. He is fluent in Indonesian, proficient in Russian and Spanish. He lived in the Southeast Asian countries of Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore for five years when he consulted for Philips 66 Existing Concession Division and Morrison Knudsen's Contract Mining Division. He also traveled extensively in Japan securing off take contracts for several coal mining companies in Indonesia.

Prior to working at We Transport, Brian was President of Street Industries in Plainview, NY. He was involved in the development of a special purpose built street trenching machine that cuts through concrete streets used by the utility industry nation wide.

Brian grew up on Long Island and graduated from Syosset High School in 1992. He is married to his wife, Deras, since 2000 and has a 5 year old daughter, Kirana. The Marksohns reside in North Hills, NY.
