This month's Member of the Month we feature an OEM Member, Peter Plate, Manager, Commercial / Military Sales and Marketing for Rosco, Inc. of Jamaica, New York. Peter was born in Huntington, NY in 1967 and raised in Commack, NY. He graduated from Commack North High School in 1985 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College in 1989.

Peter has been with Rosco, Inc. since 2003 and is responsible for global commercial and military sales inclusive of Rosco's field sales personnel, independent distributors, representatives, and strategic partners. Peter also oversees general sales and marketing strategy and policy including the updating and maintenance of Rosco's new web site at www.roscomirrors.com. His typical duties entail interfacing with engineers at major OEMs to apply existing product, and or design new mirror, visor, and camera products for use on a variety of buses, trucks, RVs, and specialty vehicles. Peter tells us that bus or truck mirrors can sell for $0.75 upwards of $500.00 per mirror or system. Broken mirrors in his business bring good fortune!

Prior to working at Rosco, Inc., Peter held Engineering, Sales and Marketing roles at Grumman Aerospace, Brooklyn Union Gas Company (now KeySpan), EDO Corporation and Rite-Hite Corporation.

Married since 1991 Peter and his wife, Nancy have 4 sons - Nicholas (10), Charles (8), William (7), Andrew (2) and currently reside in Fort Salonga, NY. He enjoys boating, fishing and sports with the boys. He also coaches youth football, basketball, and lacrosse.

Peter started attending meetings in 2004, and joined as an Associate Member in 2005. Rosco, Inc. has recently been reclassified as an OEM Member. Peter has jumped right in to help out and currently heads the OEM committee for the Society. He has focused on bringing new OEM members into the organization. He is also a member of TMC, NTEA and APTA.
