Joe White is the Shop Manager for the Holbrook location of We Transport/Towne Bus Corporation. His duties are many and include ordering of all parts, assuring that all equipment is operational, and the efficient and safe operation of more than 275 school buses. He also oversees the work of seven technicians.

Joe was born in Queens, New York in 1947 where his family resided until he was six years old. He moved to Bethpage until 1959 when he moved to Commack. He graduated from Commack High School in 1964. While taking a shop class, he entered the Lincoln Arc Welding Company sponsored welding contest and achieved a fourth place finish. He met Cindy during his senior year and has been happily married since 1966.

After a brief stint as a letter of trucks and taxicabs, Joe followed family tradition and began driving trucks. He soon started his own trucking company. After five years of grueling and demanding hours, he went to work for Southern Container Corporation. Throughout the following 26 years, he had many varied responsibilities, including driver, computer trainer, and accident investigator. Joe moved onward and upward to become responsible for 200 tractors and 500 trailers as the Director of Fleet Safety. He finally retired from his position as Logistics Manager for the American Paper Corporation. We Transport/Towne Bus was most fortunate to lure Joe out of retirement and he has quickly become a most valuable and productive asset to the company.

Joe and his lovely wife are very proud of their son, Joseph who is a Suffolk County Police Officer and their daughter, Denise, a high school Global Education teacher. In his spare time, Joe loves to fish, camp, read, and visit with his 5-year-old grandson.
