Born 1959 in Mineola, NY, our Member of the Month, James Dejana was raised in West Islip, NY and graduated from West Islip High School in 1977. He attended S.U.N.Y., Stony Brook and studied engineering.

Jamie is currently the Service & Production Manager for Dejana Truck and Utility Equipment of Kings Park, NY. He supervises a fleet of 15 vehicles including eight tractor-trailers and is also in charge of the maintenance and repair of 200 Long Island Rail Road vehicles. His staff compromises thirty mechanics and welders. Jamie oversees the scheduling of shop work, deliveries of vehicles to Dejana's customers, answering dealer inquiries and billing of jobs. He was formerly the Manager of D & A Auto parts and Manager of Parts for D&A Fleet. Jamie has been in the transportation industry since 1981.

Married to his wife Pat since 1986, they have three children, Jennifer, 7, Mary, 6 and Vincent, 5. They reside in Dix Hills, NY.

During Jamie's off time, he enjoys motorcycling, boating and soccer with the kids. He is the coach for the soccer league. Jamie owns a 1200 cc Buell motorcycle and likes to go to Bike Week at Myrtle Beach, NC and Laconia, NH every year.

In 2000, Jamie was the lucky winner of our annual Bricks raffle. He is our current Programs Committee Chairman and has been an active Member of the Society since 1992.
