January 2004

Our Member of the Month for January 2004 is Robert Logan, Fleet Manager of Logan Bus Company, Inc. of Ozone Park, New York. With over 21 years of experience at Logan Bus, he oversees a fleet of 1,200 school buses and is responsible for the daily operation of repairs, preventative maintenance, parts inventory and DOT inspections. He supervises a staff of four Managers, three Foremen and 62 mechanics at four locations - one in the Bronx and three in Queens.

Bobby started as a mechanic in the Automotive Industry at the General Motors Cadillac Division dealership in Manhattan for eight years. During that time he also served as a foreman. He continued there as a Class "A" mechanic on piece work for an additional twelve years when the dealership became Potamkin Cadillac.

Born in 1943, Bobby was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Grady Vocational High School where he graduated in 1960. He married his wife, Josephine, in 1962 and has two children, Patricia, 39 and John, 30. He is also the proud grandfather of two girls and one boy. Bobby and Josephine currently reside in Dumont, NJ.

When out of the shop, Bobby is an avid kegler and maintains a bowling average of 160. He has been a member of six different bowling leagues. He also enjoys following major league baseball and is a fan of the New York Mets. An occasional round of golf fills out his free time activities.

Bobby has been an active Member since joining the Society in 2001.
