Robert Gartman is the Director of Maintenance for Ferrara Brothers Building Corp., New York City's largest and most prestigious concrete manufacturers.

Bob is a graduate of Martin Van Buren High School with continuing educational credits at both the University of New York at Farmingdale and New York Institute of Technology at Old Westbury where he graduated in 1974.

At Ferrara Brothers, Bob employs a multitude of special skills and innovated experience where he manages a fleet of over 65 power units that includes cement mixers, dump trucks, boom truck vehicles and an assortment of pay loaders. In addition, to this comprehensive specialty operation, Bob also manages four cement production facilities within the New York Metropolitan area. Bob's responsibilities includes the procurement and purchasing of all parts for both fleet and facility operations as well as maintaining all records and data information pursuant to both these operational requirements.

In addition to the aforementioned duties, Bob conducts a comprehensive safety program for the entire company, which includes both classroom technical information as well as practical on site applications. Under Bob's direction he conducts regular seminars under the National Ready-mix Society requirements for occupational safety as well as preventive maintenance guidelines and criteria.

When Bob slows down to collect his breath he orchestrates both the insurance requirements for Ferrara Brothers as well as taking the title of Chief Information Officer where he oversees the integration of computer programs, systems and general operating information data.

Bob as always has been an active Member of the Society and was editor of the News Letter for a period of three years. Bob lives with his wife Robin and two children Chris, 21 and Andrew, 18 in Baldwin New York. He has been an avid supporter of both his athletic children by assuming both coaching and trainer responsibility throughout their successful years as all-star Hockey players.

It is quite evident that Bob is the quintessential professional, always at the cutting edge of innovation and technology. He brings to both Ferrara Brothers as well as to the Society a level of professional excellence that everyone is proud of and should continue to aspire to.
