March 2003

When it comes to the term innovator, businessman, entrepreneur and self-made success, Fred Provenzano, our Member of the Month, exemplifies all of the above. In 1993, Fred began his career as a mechanic under the watchful eye of his father, Fred Senior, who at that time owned and operated All Boro Paving, a successful construction company operating in the greater metropolitan area. Soon after, Fred became Shop Foreman and ultimately Fleet Supervisor implementing all the criteria and agendas needed to run a fleet of over thirty power units at that time.

In 1986 with the untimely passing of his father Fred had to accept one of the biggest challenges of his life. In preparing for this he began to set forth a discipline and focus on building a new company and a new beginning where he ultimately gave birth to Zano Industries. Under this new corporation Fred has become one of the largest suppliers to the construction industry providing such amenities as flatbed and lowbed service, truck and equipment repairs and refurbishing, as well as boom truck service availability. In addition to that he provides Impact Attenuator Rental Trucks, which consists or traffic safety maintenance vehicles providing concrete barriers for highway construction use.

Fred's annual sales exceed four million dollars as he currently employees over fifteen people including three mechanics, several welders, mechanic helpers and staff personnel all contributing to supporting several of the largest contractors in the New York area such as Ferrara Concrete, Tully Construction, Judlau Construction as well as Yonkers Contracting.

Fred's passion for continued success is now leading him to design and construct one of the best heavy-duty maintenance depot facilities where he will design, construct and refurbish some of the biggest heavy-duty equipment on the road today with special emphasis on painting and detail work.

His personal pursuits find him enjoying recreational boating as well as trying to improve his handicap at golf.

Fred currently resides in Massapequa Park with his lovely wife Anna and his two sons, Fred III and Michael, all who are very proud of their dad's business accomplishments and entrepreneurial spirit.
