March 2001

Our Member of the Month is Clem Drummond who was born in 1950 and raised in Ozone Park, Queens, NY. He graduated Woodrow Wilson High School and joined the Army Reserve and is a veteran. Clem served in the 99th Signal Group and reached the rank of Sergeant, overseeing the Motor Pool operation. He decided to continue his automotive education by attending the Automotive Technology Program at SUNY Farmingdale. He earned his Bachelors in Organizational Management from NYACK College and is now completing a MBA from Dowling College.

Clem is married to the girl of his dreams, Ginny since 1978. Ginny and Clem have been married for 22 years and are blessed with two lovely children Amanda 17, and Addison (AJ) 12. Clem gives most of the credit for raising the children to his wife Ginny for her devotion and patients in seeing their children succeed.

Clem is in his 29th year at KeySpan in the Key Accounts area of Marketing as a Technical Consultant for the Natural Gas Vehicle Program. During his career at KeySpan he has helped develop the first natural gas buses in the U.S. and has worked with the OEM's in Detroit engineering natural gas vehicles for the assembly line. Clem has been recognized by the auto industry over the years. He appreciates most the honor he received by Automotive Service Industry Association for his significant contributions in the automotive field and was entered into the Automotive Hall of Fame at Northwood Institute in Midland, Michigan. Clem also represents KeySpan on several Committees that shape the direction of future technology.

In his spare time, Clem enjoys boating, trying to catch the big fish, and taking on challenges of home remodeling. Someday, he hopes to be able to have a repeatable golf score in the 80s.
